Felsted School is delighted to celebrate another successful year of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme results, with pupils achieving an outstanding set of outcomes that reflect their hard work, ambition and commitment throughout their studies.

This year’s cohort achieved a 96.2% pass rate, with an average score of 34 points out of 45, exceeding the global average of 30.88. 72% of Higher Level grades achieved the equivalent of A*-B (7 -5).

These excellent results will enable Felsted students to secure places at leading universities in the UK and around the world, including: University of Oxford, LSE, King’s College, London and Queen’s University, Belfast in UK (and Washington State, IE and Leiden globally).

Renowned for its breadth and academic rigour, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at Felsted develops inquisitive, resilient and internationally minded learners. Alongside their academic studies, pupils complete the programme’s core elements, including the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) component, encouraging them to develop the skills, perspectives and sense of responsibility needed to thrive beyond the classroom.

George Masters, Acting Head of Felsted School, said: “Congratulations to our IB students on these excellent results. Their achievements are the culmination of two years of hard work, resilience and intellectual curiosity, supported by dedicated teachers and the wider Felsted community. They should be incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and we wish them every success as they embark on their next exciting chapter.”

Felsted’s highest-achieving students are Benjamin Little, Alexia Mendes, Vanessa Bi, Helena Maixer Guzman, Mercedes Pineda Ledesma, Naobi Campbell and Eman Janjua whose top outcomes are testament to their commitment to high standards and excellence in their approach to learning.

Benjamin Little, has received an offer to study Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford. Beyond the classroom, Ben embraced a wide range of co-curricular opportunities at Felsted, including the academic Andrew Society, debating and serving as Human Rights Chair for Felsted’s MUN (Model United Nations) conference, developing his academic rigour, teamwork and global perspective. Reflecting on his time at Felsted, Ben said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Felsted. It has enabled me to challenge myself academically while opening up a wide range of opportunities in music, sport and drama beyond the classroom. The support and guidance from the teaching staff have been incredible, and I wouldn’t have achieved what I have without them. Thank you.”

Mercedes Pineda Ledesma made the most of the breadth of opportunities available at the school, making a significant contribution both academically and to the wider School community. She was an active member of the Charities Committee, Chapel, the academic Andrew Society, MedSoc and MUN where she served as Secretary General, while also serving as Head of School. Reflecting on her experience, Mercedes said: “My time at Felsted has been nothing short of an adventure. I have had amazing opportunities such as representing Felsted at the Nottingham schools debate and met so many amazing people and made lifelong memories. Being Head of School was one of the best parts of my time at Felsted – it was an honour and an amazing experience to work with my peers and be able to help make a difference.”

Mercedes will begin her Medicine degree at Queen’s University Belfast, taking the next step towards her ambition of becoming a doctor; “I would like to thank the Felsted staff that helped and supported me these past two years and through my medicine application. I am looking forward to beginning my career in Medicine at Queen’s in September!”
