Boarding schools play a significant role in shaping the lives of young people. International Boarding Day aims to create an opportunity to reflect on the invaluable life skills, friendships, and independence cultivated in these settings, while also celebrating and sharing experiences of inclusive, supportive boarding school communities across the globe.

To ensure wider inclusivity across international term dates, International Boarding Week can be celebrated in your school on any day between 10-16 October 2026. You pick the date which best suits you – with no pressure to celebrate for the full week!
The theme for 2026 is ‘Together Across the World’ and aims to celebrate the global community at the heart of boarding. From different countries, cultures and backgrounds, boarding brings people together to share experiences, build friendships and create connections that can last a lifetime.
International Boarding Week is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of the boarding community while recognising the common experiences, values and sense of belonging that unite us – wherever in the world that may be!
