Milton Abbey Hospitality pupils played a key role in the successful Chettle House gala dinner, helping to raise £300,000 for a new wing at Dorchester County Hospital. The pupils were widely praised for their professionalism and enthusiasm.
The Milton Abbey Hospitality pupils are to be warmly commended for their outstanding contribution to the recent gala dinner held at Chettle House, an event which successfully raised an impressive £300,000 in support of the new wing at Dorchester County Hospital.
A group of Milton Abbey pupils volunteered for the evening, working alongside professional caterers, Kitt & Kee, to help deliver a polished and memorable occasion for 250 guests. The gala featured live music and a lively auction, all set against the backdrop of the magnificent Chettle House. Our pupils rose superbly to the challenge, conducting themselves with professionalism, confidence and warmth throughout.
Their impact did not go unnoticed. Katharine (Jibba) Butler, Appeal Committee, DCH Charity reflected that, “Having the Milton Abbey hospitality students support our caterers at the Chettle gala dinner, made an extraordinary difference to the occasion. Obviously we really appreciated the additional staff whose expertise made them indistinguishable from the professionals, however it was the sense of community and voluntary contribution to an important cause that their presence proclaimed, and it was this, I think, that was particularly valued and made a strong impact on the event. I, and all the committee, would like to sincerely thank them.”
Similarly, Casey Gregory, Fundraising Manager at DCH Charity, noted “The support from the Milton Abbey hospitality students and staff at our recent Chettle gala dinner was truly exceptional. The students conducted themselves with such professionalism, confidence and warmth throughout the evening and were an enormous credit to the school.
Their contribution went far beyond practical support; their enthusiasm and generosity helped create the wonderful atmosphere that made the evening so special. On behalf of everyone at Dorset County Hospital Charity, we would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the students and staff for supporting us so brilliantly. We would be delighted to collaborate with Milton Abbey again in the future.”
Special thanks must go to Mrs Monaghan and Mrs Forster for their exceptional work in training the pupils, supporting them throughout the evening, and ensuring they gained such a valuable and rewarding experience.
It was a privilege to be involved in such a significant event, and our pupils should feel immensely proud of their role in supporting such a worthy cause.
