Staff members and students at DLD College London are jubilant following a hugely successful inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), as the multi-award-winning school prepares to welcome Year 9 students from September 2023.
The inspection focussed largely on the schoolβs compliance with the relevant regulations and standards, assessing DLDβs proposal to lower the age range to include pupils aged 13. The ISI inspectors determined that DLD College London met the requirements in all areas, including βQuality of Education Providedβ, βWelfare, Health and Safety of Pupilsβ, βSuitability of Staff, Supply Staff and Proprietors, βPremises and Accommodationβ, βProvision of Informationβ and βQuality of Leadership and Managementβ.
Central to the pioneering new Year 9 offering is a curriculum designed to spark a love of learning, preparing students for the careers of tomorrow and providing a solid bedrock of knowledge and skills. The programme will deliver a hybrid of the traditional and unconventional, invaluably introducing students to the rigours of grammar and algebra, while also learning about topics such as NFTs and cryptocurrency.
As part of the programme, and maximising the collegeβs unique location on the South Bank, once a week students will work on cross-curricular projects whereby London becomes the classroom. Students will have the opportunity to get involved in the community in which they live, and develop their research, inquiry and reflection skills, actively using everything that capital has to offer.
DLD College London Principal, Irfan Latif commented: βWe are incredibly pleased to receive such a glowing inspection report as we prepare to increase our provision and offer a Year 9 programme from September 2023, consolidating our unique space in the education sector.
βAt DLD College London we continue to innovate new ways of delivering education, whilst also creating unique learning opportunities for our students. The Year 9 offering forms the first stage of a DLD studentβs journey, as they progress through to our Year 10 and Year 11 Key Stage 4 programmes, and then onto Sixth Form, university and beyond. Throughout this journey, students are empowered at each and every step to tailor their learning, and to develop skills and experience to pursue their passions.β
