Chigwell Pupils Appointed as Epping Forest Youth Councillors

Posted: 6th August 2026

We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of two Chigwell School pupils, Alexia and Ali, who have been appointed as Epping Forest Youth Councillors for the 2026–28 term.

Alexia is passionate about championing student wellbeing, ensuring young people feel heard, and advocating for greater support during exam periods through initiatives such as peer-led support groups. She is also committed to tackling bullying and discrimination, believing that “no one should feel unheard or unsafe.”

Ali is equally dedicated to representing the voices of young people, creating positive change, and helping to build a safer, more inclusive community. He is passionate about turning ideas into action and improving opportunities and wellbeing for young people across the local area.

As members of the Epping Forest Youth Council, Alexia and Ali will represent the views of young people across the district, work alongside local councillors on issues affecting their peers, and help shape projects and initiatives that make a meaningful difference within the community.

Congratulations to Alexia and Ali on this fantastic achievement. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make over the next two years.
