Posted: 25th March 2026

ISKANDAR PUTERI, Malaysia – 25th March 2026 – Marlborough College Malaysia (MCM) is proud to announce it will host the International Education and Sustainability Leadership Summit from 25th to 27th September 2026. This landmark event, developed in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) and SusEd (Sustainability Education), aims to redefine the role of education in addressing the global climate crisis.

Under the theme “The Sustainability Algorithm: Disrupting Education for a Flourishing Planet,” the three-day summit will bring together a diverse cohort of global changemakers, including educators, students (ages 15+), policymakers, and leaders from business and civil society.

The summit arrives at a critical juncture as the world faces an escalating polycrisis of environmental and social challenges. Participants will engage in a series of immersive dialogues and collaborative inquiries following Otto Scharmer’s Theory U framework, a process designed to lead groups from traditional thinking to transformative action.

“At Marlborough College Malaysia, sustainability is a core pillar of our mission,” said Mr Simon Burbury, Master of the College. “This summit is not just a discussion; it is a call to action. We are inviting leaders from across all sectors to join us in reimagining our moral purpose and developing a strategic vision that embeds sustainability leadership at the heart of our
organisations.”

Key highlights of the Summit include:
● Systems Thinking & AI: Exploring how emerging technologies and holistic thinking can ignite minds and drive ethical solutions for a sustainable future.
● Multi-Sector Collaboration: Bridging the gap between education, government, and industry to build lasting action networks.
● Student-Led Innovation: Empowering the next generation of planetary citizens to lead community-based sustainability initiatives.
● Strategic Action Planning: Providing delegates with the tools to create tangible sustainability roadmaps for their own schools or businesses.

The event will be hosted at Marlborough College Malaysia’s award-winning 90-acre campus in Iskandar Puteri, just 15 minutes from the Singapore border. The College itself has recently pioneered several sustainability initiatives, including the installation of solar panels designed to generate 120% of its energy needs and the introduction of an Outdoor Classroom, featuring an organic farm, chickens, and pygmy goats to teach pupils about the ecosystem and responsible stewardship.

Registration is now open for individual delegates and school groups. For more information on the programme, speakers, and registration, please visit: marlboroughcollegemalaysia.org/sustainability-leadership-summit/
