Multi-award-winning independent school, DLD College London, was awash with colour, flavour, music and celebration as the school community came together to mark Culture Day.
A highly anticipated occasion in the school calendar, Culture Day provided an opportunity for the school’s diverse community of students representing over 70 nationalities to proudly share the traditions that shape their identities. From traditional attire and cultural artefacts, to homemade delicacies, music and personal stories, the day offered a joyous celebration of the diversity that enriches college life at DLD.
The college atrium at the landmark Westminster Bridge Road campus buzzed with energy and excitement as students explored stalls hosted by their peers, sampling dishes from around the world, learning about different cultural practices, and discovering the histories behind them. Staff also actively joined in the celebration, sharing their own cultural experiences and supporting students as they presented their heritage.
James Kidd, Principal at DLD College London, commented, “What made Culture Day truly special was the spirit of unity and curiosity that filled the college. Students and staff came together not only to celebrate what makes each culture unique, but also to appreciate the shared values, creativity, and humanity that connect us all.
“The day reaffirmed the inclusive, international ethos at the heart of DLD College London, reminding us that our differences are something to celebrate, and our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. We look forward to many more opportunities throughout the year to continue embracing the global community that makes DLD such a vibrant and inspiring place to learn.”
