The BSA is today launching its first-ever esports tournament, bringing together leading boarding schools in a friendly, skills-based digital competition to find ‘Boarding’s Best Gamers’.
The initiative, piloted in BSA’s 60th year, recognises the growing importance of esports in promoting teamwork, communication, strategy, and digital literacy within a structured and supportive environment.
Participating schools include:
- Eastbourne College
- Embley School
- Bromsgrove School
- Gordon’s School
- Keswick School
- Loughborough Grammar School
- Sandroyd School
- Sibford School
- St Swithun’s School
- Villiers School
The pilot will run over four Friday evenings and see teams compete in 6-Minute Chess and Rocket League. It aims to explore how esports can complement traditional extracurricular programmes, uniting boarding houses and helping boarders connect with peers around the country.
The tournament is co-hosted by School of Esports, with prizes generously sponsored by Corsair Business.
BSA Director, David Walker, said:
“Boarding schools have always been at the forefront of innovative learning and enrichment. Our esports pilot brings a modern dimension to that, offering pupils a chance to collaborate, compete, and build digital resilience whilst having fun.”
The winners will be announced shortly after the tournament final on December 5, 2025.
