Boarding and safeguarding specialist BSA Group has announced Neil Mahapatra as its new Chair from November 1, 2025.
Neil is the founder / CEO of EV Charging Business Zapgo, and a founder / Partner at Kingsley Capital Partners in London, which creates new businesses in growing markets.
A former music scholar and house captain at Eton College, Neil has served as President of the Oxford Union and was a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard Business School. He has also been Chair of Governors at Michaela Community School in Wembley and for over a decade, was Chair of Trustees of the MASS Design Group, a leading architecture firm that designs & builds projects promoting health, social justice and human dignity.
Commenting on his appointment, Neil said: “As someone who is passionate about boarding education and its benefits, and who experienced these benefits first-hand, I am delighted to be joining BSA Group as Chair. And I’d like to thank current Chair Ed Jones for his excellent board leadership over the past three years.
“BSA Group is a world leader in boarding and safeguarding – and increasingly in new areas such as health education, inclusion and legal services. I am looking forward to working with the board and executive team to help it further grow and develop.”
Current Chair Ed Jones, who is also chair of Wightlink Ferries and Colgate-Palmolive UK Pension Plan, added: “Neil stood out as the candidate to be Chair in a very strong field. I am pleased to be passing the baton to him and wish him well building on the strong foundations the board and BSA Group team have built during my time as Chair.”
BSA Group, which serves more than 2,000 customers in over 40 countries, comprises an immigration law firm and six membership associations – BAISIS (British Association of Independent Schools with International Students), BSA (Boarding Schools Association), HIEDA (Health in Education Association), IELA (Inclusion and Equity Leadership Association), SACPA (Safeguarding and Child Protection Association) and TIOB (The Institute of Boarding).
