Bromsgrove School is delighted to share the outstanding achievement of pupils Toby Ward and Charlie Fielding, who have secured a significant victory on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Tour, winning the doubles title at the prestigious J30 tournament held in Mytilene, Greece.

The ITF J30 forms part of the global pathway for aspiring junior players, providing valuable world ranking points and vital experience on the international stage. By triumphing in Mytilene, the duo have each earned 25 ITF world ranking points, an important milestone that opens the door to higher-level international events and further opportunities on the Junior Tour.

Both Toby and Charlie are committed athletes within Bromsgrove’s Performance Tennis Programme, where they combine their academic studies with high-level training. Beyond their scheduled sessions, both boys have shown exceptional independence and discipline, regularly undertaking additional training to develop their skills. This dedication has been instrumental in their recent success.

Speaking of their achievement, a member of Bromsgrove’s coaching team, Mr James Nolan, commented, “I’ve had the pleasure of supporting Toby’s tennis journey since he was three years old, and of working with Charlie from the age of thirteen. Their commitment within our programme is exceptional, but what stands out is the extra, self-directed work they put in. This result is a testament to their efforts and an important stepping stone towards their future aspirations.”

Looking ahead, both boys have ambitions to pursue tennis at the collegiate level in the United States, and this international success further enhances their profiles as strong contenders for leading university programmes.

Bromsgrove School congratulates Toby and Charlie on this well-deserved victory and looks forward to supporting them as they continue their journeys in competitive tennis.
