New statutory allergy guidance for schools is coming into effect in September 2026, and Benedict’s Law is following close behind.Β The Allergy TeamΒ is delighted to be hosting Benedict Coffin from the Department for Education for a special Q&A on 20th May at 11am, giving school staff the chance to put their questions directly to the DfE. The new statutory guidance, which is currently in draft form, requires schools to have a dedicated allergy policy, provide whole-school allergy training, purchase spare adrenaline devices, and appoint a named governor and senior leader to oversee allergy safety arrangements. Benedict’s Law will then build on this, making allergy safety policies a legal duty for all schools. This is a free event for school staff, with 1,000 places available.Β Register hereΒ and please submit your questions in advance.
