Leiths Education Launches Comprehensive Cookery Pathway for Schools #advert

Posted: 4th October 2024

Leiths Education, a leader in culinary education, is excited to announce the launch of its new cookery resources, aligned with the national curriculum for Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5. These resources are designed to make food and nutrition education accessible, engaging, and practical for pupils, with no specialist expertise required for teachers.

For Key Stage 2 (Ages 7-11):
The new resources fully meet the requirements of the national curriculum for KS2 food and nutrition. Developed with ease of use in mind, they include everything teachers need in one place—lesson plans, recipes, shopping lists, and cook-along videos. The program is tailored to classroom realities, offering numerous non-cook recipes, and is also a cross-curricular resource, supporting learning in English, maths, science, and topics like climate change. Additionally, it encourages teamwork, improves communication skills, and helps develop problem-solving abilities.

Key Stages 3 & 4:
For older pupils, the KS3 and KS4 resources offer everything from the KS2 program with additional content geared toward practical, hands-on cooking. These lessons focus on developing essential life skills and offer valuable experience for students interested in careers in hospitality and catering; supporting personal statements for university applications and post-school pathways. For boarding students, the course helps to build vital life skills they may not develop at home and can also contribute to the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
