BSA launches categories for Supporting Excellence Awards 2024

Posted: 3rd January 2024

BSA has opened their annual Supporting Excellence Awards for 2024, featuring three brand new categories.

First held in 2018, these highly regarded annual awards are now in their seventh year and are designed to celebrate and recognise the achievements, hard work and dedication of schools and individuals in the boarding sector.

This year, BSA are offering a total of 14 award categories, three of which are brand new for 2024. New categories include

  • Emma Pattison Award for Compassionate Leadership
This award, newly introduced for 2024 in memory of former Epsom College Head, Emma Pattison, recognises an individual who consistently embodies compassion and kindness within their leadership role. The award exemplifies a person who fosters trust, contributes to team morale and makes a meaningful and positive impact on those around them.

  • Sustainability in Boarding Award
How environmentally aware is your school? New for 2024, this award recognises the efforts made by boarding schools to make a meaningful and positive environmental impact both in school and within the local community.

  • Supporting International Boarders – Agent/Guardian Award
Newly introduced for 2024, this award recognises an agent or guardian who has gone above and beyond to support international boarders. The judges will be looking for evidence and examples which demonstrate excellent standards in supporting international students during or after student placement. This award is open to all educational agents and guardians worldwide who are members of the BSA Certified Agent and/or Guardian Scheme.

The BSA Awards are an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful work of the boarding community over the past 12 months. People working in boarding are committed and caring to their students and are held in high esteem within schools. This awards programme is the only event in the UK which celebrates them more widely and I am delighted to be able to support it.” David Walker, Director, BSA

Winners of the awards will be announced and invited to the stage at the BSA Annual Conference for Heads awards dinner on Tuesday May 7, 2024.
