UK member alert on situation in Israel and Palestine

Posted: 9th October 2023

The Israeli government has declared a state of emergency across the whole country. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advises against all but essential travel to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPTs).

International borders (air and land) in Israel and the OPTs could close at short notice. So any BSA member UK schools with international students seeking to travel to Israel during half term are advised to communicate with parents and consider alternative arrangements. If travel plans are maintained, families and schools should check with airlines before travelling and are advised to consult Israeli Home Front Command for more information: www.oref.org.il/en or call 104 if in Israel.

BSA will liaise with the UK government as necessary and keep members updated on any changes to travel arrangements.

Any school with queries with travel/visa should contact Kate Hollyer, Legal and Public Affairs Director via kate.hollyer@bsagroup.org.uk
