DRN Nutrition opens January 2027 intake for its Schools Programme

Posted: 1st October 2026

Following strong uptake from schools during its September onboarding period, DRN Nutrition is opening a limited number of places for the January 2027 intake of its DRN Schools Programme.

The programme supports schools to provide practical, evidence-informed nutrition education for pupils, parents, coaches and staff. It is designed to help young athletes build the knowledge, confidence and everyday habits needed to support performance, health and long-term development.

DRN Nutrition is a performance nutrition consultancy with experience across professional and youth sport. Its practitioners have worked in professional football, Olympic and other high-performance environments, supporting athletes to understand how nutrition can contribute to performance, wellbeing and development. Alongside this work, DRN Nutrition partners with independent schools across the UK to make high-quality nutrition support accessible within the school environment.

Dan Richardson MSc, SENr, Performance Nutritionist and Founder of DRN Nutrition, said: “Schools invest heavily in sport, coaching and pastoral support, but nutrition can often be the missing piece. The DRN Schools Programme gives pupils practical, realistic strategies they can use around school, training, competition and home life, while giving parents and staff the confidence to reinforce the same messages.”

The DRN Schools Programme is built around a structured, sustainable approach to nutrition education rather than one-off interventions. Each programme is tailored to the needs of the school and can include on-site student workshops, online nutrition education across the academic year, practical athlete and parent resources, one-to-one nutrition support, and staff CPD for coaches, teachers and wider school staff.

Student workshops cover areas such as fuelling performance, recovery, hydration, growth and development, with a focus on simple strategies pupils can put into practice at school, at home and around training and competition.

Schools joining through the January 2027 intake will receive a ÂŁ250 credit towards their September 2027/28 DRN Schools Programme when they sign up for the following academic year. They will also receive complimentary access to practical student resources, including the Scholar Athlete Nutrition Checklist, Student Smart Snack Guide and Fuelling Performance Recipe Book.

The January intake is intended for schools looking to introduce or develop their nutrition provision during the remainder of the 2026/27 academic year.

Schools interested in the January intake can contact Eoin Schofield, DRN Nutrition Performance Nutrition Lead, to discuss the available support and identify the most suitable programme for their pupils.
