In educational settings, where children with allergies are present, it is crucial for school staff to be well-informed about allergies, their triggers, and the appropriate steps to take in an emergency.

Recently, we reached a significant milestone… our CPD-Accredited Anaphylaxis Kitt training course surpassed 1,000 completions!

By subscribing to easily accessible training programs like ours, schools can empower their staff to create safer and more inclusive environments for students with allergies. This recent achievement highlights the growing recognition of the importance of our Anaphylaxis Kitt service alongside allergy training and its potential to save lives.

We’ve received thousands of reviews on our Anaphylaxis Kitt training course which we filmed and created in partnership with The Allergy Team. School staff finish our 20 minute course with an average 9/10 level of understanding of allergy and confidence to treat anaphylaxis.

Containing a few quick educational videos which are followed by interactive quiz questions, our online training course teaches all about allergies – including how to deal with an emergency anaphylaxis scenario by utilising the adrenaline pen medications in your school’s Anaphylaxis Kitts.

We filmed our training course in partnership with The Allergy Team, who create a complete package of resources, training, expert events and insight into best-practice, to support whole school communities.

The videos feature our co-founder Zak, who lives with a severe nut allergy, as well as Sarah Knight from The Allergy Team (who has two sons that live with multiple severe allergies) and registered school nurse Karen Cragg, who demonstrates how to use an Anaphylaxis Kitt and adrenaline pen to treat anaphylaxis on a young child.

We created our CPD-accredited training course from scratch – designed by schools, for schools.

Instant Accessibility for Schools

One of the key factors contributing to the success of our Anaphylaxis Kitt training program is its instant accessibility. By subscribing to the program, schools gain immediate access to the comprehensive training materials, including the video quiz. With an average completion time of just 20 minutes, this quiz offers a concise and efficient means of educating school staff about anaphylaxis. In a busy educational environment, where time is a valuable commodity, this accessibility ensures that allergy training can be seamlessly integrated into the professional development of staff members.

Confidence to Save Lives

Perhaps the most significant outcome of the Anaphylaxis Kitt training program is the boost in confidence it provides to school staff. Armed with knowledge and understanding, these 1,000 individuals can now confidently say that they possess the skills required to save the life of a student, teacher, or anyone experiencing anaphylaxis. This newfound confidence is invaluable in critical situations, where timely and appropriate action can make a life-or-death difference. By investing in allergy training, schools are not only fulfilling their duty of care but also empowering their staff to be effective first responders.

”This training is spot on. It took me 20 minutes to complete and is clear, concise and gives school staff exactly what they need to recognise and treat anaphylaxis” – Ralph Allen School

Understanding Allergies and Risks

Allergy training is not solely about recognizing the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis. It also aims to provide a deeper understanding of allergies and the potential risks they pose to the school community. By undertaking the Anaphylaxis Kitt training video quiz, the 1,000 individuals who completed it have acquired a comprehensive knowledge of different allergens, common triggers, and preventive measures. This knowledge equips them to create a safer environment for students with allergies, reducing the likelihood of severe reactions and ensuring a conducive learning environment for all.

”All very informative and not too much information to process as units are broken down” – Orrell Lamberhead Green Academy

Nurse Karen was actually one of the first people to ever get involved with Kitt. As the medical needs coordinator at Wilmslow High School, she helped us in the pilot phase of our original product (called ‘ana.’) and from there she’s been an incredible source of feedback and experience, all the way to filming our Anaphylaxis Kitt training course!

Creating an Allergy-Inclusive Environment

Beyond emergency response, allergy training also emphasizes the importance of creating an inclusive and supportive environment for students with allergies. School staff who have completed the Anaphylaxis Kitt training program are more likely to understand the challenges faced by students with allergies and take proactive steps to minimize risks. They can work alongside parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to develop appropriate allergy management plans and implement preventive measures such as allergen-free zones, effective communication strategies, and allergy-aware policies. By fostering an allergy-inclusive environment, schools promote a sense of belonging and ensure the overall well-being of their students.
