Outstanding rugby achievement for Wellington School Sixth Form Girl

Posted: 4th February 2022

Girls are participating in a wider range of sports at Wellington School. Sixth Former Rosie has an exciting opportunity to join the Exeter Chiefs Centre of Excellence Festival in February. England Pathway coaches will be present and Rosie will be playing with some of the best upcoming players at the Harlequins Oxford ground against teams such as Harlequins, Wasps, Saracens and Bristol Bears. This is a fantastic opportunity for keen rugby player Rosie who also plays for top of the Devon league, Sidmouth U18s and has competed nationally in British Youth Junior League in Cycle Speedway.

It was also wonderful to see so many of our girls playing rugby against Kings Taunton and The Kings of Wessex Academy.  On a glorious sunny afternoon they all enjoyed a triangular fixture and performed outstandingly. It is a great tribute to the work of the sports department that our students across all ages are so versatile, strong and athletic and able to embrace such a wide variety of sports.

Girls have also featured strongly on the football field, with girls matches and some mixed teams.
