Reverend Katie Windle, Chaplain at Sherborne Girls since 2018, has had her role extended to become Chaplain of the four Dorset schools in the Sherborne Schools Group.
Pupils and staff attended Sherborne Abbey on 4 October for a service which saw the Bishop of Salisbury licence Rev Windle to become Chaplain of Sherborne Boys, Sherborne Girls, Sherborne Prep and Hanford Prep.
Rev Windle said: βI am truly honoured to be taking up this new role, working with the heads to guide the spiritual development of the schools, supporting the whole community, pupils, staff and parents.β
Rev Windle is a member of Sherborne Girls’ pastoral team, where she also teaches English and helps with the Combined Cadet Force. She lives on site with her family, and Reggie the spaniel.
Simon Heard, who is currently Head of Sherborne Boys and will become Head of Sherborne Schools in January, said: βI have no doubt that Katie and the wider Chaplaincy team, made up of school prefects and staff, will work together to build on our schools’ rich tradition of Christian education and values.
βKatie will support the whole community as the schools come together as one unity, with a shared all-through pathway from age three to 18, and I wish her every success in this exciting new role.β
