Chigwell School was delighted to welcome 40 Year 12 students from Oaks Park High School, Bobby Moore Academy, Ilford County High School and Copleston High School for our Aspirational Summer School.
Designed to inspire and prepare students for higher education and future opportunities, the week offered a varied programme of academic workshops, enrichment activities and opportunities to build confidence and develop new skills.
The students began the week with a tour of the school before taking part in public speaking and critical thinking workshops. Evenings were filled with a range of activities, including swimming, tennis, badminton, an outdoor cinema and wellness walks, giving everyone the chance to relax, socialise and make new connections.
The programme concluded with a visit to Oxford, where students enjoyed a tour of the Oxford Union, participated in debating workshops and explored Christ Church College. Following their return to Chigwell, the group rounded off the experience with more evening activities on campus.
It was a pleasure to host all the students throughout the week, and we hope they left feeling inspired, more confident and equipped with new skills and experiences as they continue their educational journeys.
