LVS Ascot has announced that James Thomson has been appointed as the schoolβs new Principal, effective from 1 September 2026.
James, who is currently Vice Principal, Director of Futures at LVS Ascot, will succeed Christine Cunniffe, who will transition into the role of Director of Education (Mainstream) and Executive Principal within the LTC Education Group.
Christine has led LVS Ascot as Principal for sixteen exceptional years, during which time she has made a transformational contribution to the school. In her new role, she will remain an active and important presence within the LVS Ascot community, working with James to provide continuity, guidance and support, while also contributing to the wider strategic development of mainstream education across the LTC Education Group.
James brings a wealth of educational leadership experience, together with a strong understanding of the values and ambitions that underpin LVS Ascot. He has demonstrated a clear commitment to educational excellence, outstanding pastoral care and the development of a thriving school community.
His vision for LVS Ascot centres onΒ βFuture Ready EducationβΒ β preparing young people not only for academic success, but for life beyond education in a rapidly changing world. This aligns strongly with the LTC Education Groupβs wider commitment to helping pupils develop the confidence, resilience, adaptability and character they will need to flourish in careers, industries and opportunities that, in many cases, do not yet exist.
