DLD College London recently hosted an engaging workshop in partnership with The University Guys, offering Year 12 students valuable insight into the process of applying to international universities.
The session welcomed an enthusiastic audience of around 60 students, all eager to broaden their understanding of global higher education pathways beyond the UK.
Designed to reflect real admissions processes, the workshop featured a hands-on activity in which students assessed a fictional university applicant. Participants reviewed the candidate’s academic profile, extracurricular achievements, and personal statement before debating their suitability for admission. The exercise concluded with a student vote, sparking energetic discussion and encouraging attendees to think critically about the qualities universities prioritise when selecting candidates.
This anticipated event forms part of DLD’s ongoing programme of enrichment activities, each aimed at broadening students’ horizons and equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their futures. Through expert guidance and exposure to a wide range of higher education options, the College continues to support students in shaping ambitious and well‑considered next steps.
James Kidd, Principal at DLD College London, commented, “DLD is proud to have an extremely high entry rate to universities each year, placing students at prestigious institutions in an incredibly wide range of disciplines. Events like this are invaluable in helping our students understand the realities of international university admissions. It’s about more than grades – it’s about insight, reflection, and preparing students to present themselves confidently on a global stage.”
