Bede’s U15 Boys’ Football Team Achieve Double League Victories

Posted: 14th April 2026

Bede’s Senior School is proud to announce a brilliant football season as their U15 Boys’ team secured both the ISFA Cup and the Elgin League title.

The 18-man squad, comprising of talent from Japan, the USA, Bermuda and the UK, has demonstgrated brilliant resilience and teamwork on their path to success.

In February, the team made it to the ISFA Cup Semi-Final against Epsom College. A 3-1 victory, fueled by two goals from pupils Kenji and one from Angus, booked their place in the Final. On 12 March, the team travelled to Burton Albion for the ISFA Cup Final against Whitgift. After a tense, goalless first half, Bede’s maintained their composure to find the back of the net in the closing minutes, securing a 1-0 win and the national title.

Continuing their success, the squad faced Forest School in the Elgin League Final on 17 March. Following a hard-fought match that ended in a stalemate, the title was decided by a nerve-wracking penalty shootout. Thanks to successful strikes from Rume and Kenji, Bede’s triumphed 5-4 on penalties, adding another trophy to their cabinet.

The season’s success has been underpinned by exceptional individual leadership: Aidan, the Team Captain, joined Bede’s in Reception and exemplifies the school’s ethos. A “triple threat” athlete who competes at a high level in football, cricket and hockey, he balances his sporting commitments with top-tier academic performance.

“We are incredibly proud of how these young men have represented the school,” says Director of Sport at Bede’s David Caryer. “To see all 18 players come together to play so brilliantly is exactly what sport at Bede’s is all about. Winning the ISFA Cup and the Elgin League in such quick succession is an extraordinary feat and a testament to their hard work.”

Bede’s football programme aims to get the best out of every individual. Players receive at least three training sessions per week plus fixtures with additional football academy sessions for the most talented players. Many Bede’s pupils have gone onto professional contracts including Solly March (Brighton & Hove Albion), Lola Brown (Chelsea and England WU17) and James Norwood (Ipswich Town and England U21).
