Richard Huish College Awarded AI in Education Certification

Huish has officially been recognised as AI in Education certified, achieving Explorer status within the AI in Education Certified Framework.

This accreditation positions the college as a leading centre for innovation in the responsible use of artificial intelligence in education, highlighting its commitment to ensuring students and staff alike are equipped to thrive in an AI‑powered future.

To support the strategic and ethical adoption of AI, Huish has taken significant steps; this includes the appointment of a dedicated AI Lead, the development of a comprehensive AI policy, and the integration of AI tools and practices across college systems to strengthen understanding of AI’s potential and limitations.

David Irving, AI Lead and History Course Manager, commented:

“Completing this process has highlighted the transformative role of AI in education and the importance of embedding its use within a secure, ethical, and pedagogically sound framework.”

The AiEd Certified team noted that the Explorer level focuses on “building strong foundations” and praised Huish’s “evidence-gathering and reflective approach,” recognising the college’s clear momentum and thoughtful start to its AI journey.
