BUDDING artists are making the final touches to their work which will feature in a public exhibition for the community.
Barnard Castle School sixth formers will see the culmination of their studies on show at The Witham, from June 2 to 7.
The exhibition will feature the work of 18-year-old students Savannah Tarn, of Melsonby, Becky Minikin, of Barnard Castle, Oscar Rake, of Corbridge, and Charlotte Herron of Sadberge.
Head of art at Barnard Castle School Kate Baptist said: “The students have worked incredibly hard and their artwork reflects the talents they have honed at school.
“The exhibition gives them the opportunity to experience what it is like to have their work on public show and offers them an insight into the life they could lead as an artist.”
Oscar, has been inspired by fashion and street culture to produce a collection of mixed media artworks. He plans to study fashion, marketing and enterprise at Leeds Beckett University.
Becky has studied a range of people’s expressions which she has captured in oils and portraiture.
Charlotte’s work has been inspired by the architecture of the East versus the West examining the buildings of Beijing in China and contrasting them with Venice, Italy.
Savannah’s work features interior design for a corner of a room and includes wallpaper, tiles, a chandelier, curtains and soft furnishings, using media such as print and ceramics. She is also an accomplished painter and will exhibit oils with a flora theme.
