THREE SPORTS, THREE NATIONAL TITLES: HISTORIC WEEKEND FOR BRIGHTON COLLEGE

Brighton College is celebrating an extraordinary weekend of sporting success, after pupils secured a triple national triumph across swimming, rugby and fencing, alongside multiple podium finishes at prestigious competitions across the country.

The boys’ swimming team delivered a historic performance at the prestigious Bath & Nelson Cup, winning gold in the 4x100m freestyle relay, whilst also breaking the event record to secure their place in the competition’s history. Brighton College’s girls’ teams also impressed, claiming silver medals in both the 4x50m freestyle relay and the medley relay, after outstanding performances in the pool.

Meanwhile, Brighton College’s U16 rugby 7s team were crowned All England Champions after an exceptional campaign at the National Finals in London, overcoming some of the strongest school rugby sides in the country to secure the title.

Success continued on the fencing piste, as Brighton College returned from the British School Team Fencing Championships with both gold and bronze medals. The U18 mixed/men’s Épée team produced a superb performance to claim the national title. In the Foil event, the team fought back in dramatic fashion to secure bronze after a thrilling comeback.

Together, the achievements represent an extraordinary weekend for Brighton College sport and highlight the depth of talent across multiple disciplines.

To achieve national success across three different sports in a single weekend is remarkable. At the same time, over 830 pupils represented the College in a sports fixture at the weekend – underlining Brighton College as one of the top sports schools in the country, for those who love sport, as well as for those who want to give something a go.”

The results further underline Brighton College’s reputation for sporting excellence, with pupils continuing to compete, and succeed, at the very highest level of sport.
