Sidcot School is pleased to announce the extension of its Careers Department, now renamed ‘Futures’, through its support for students well beyond their Sixth Form studies and immediate destinations post-18.
Futures supports:
- Subject choice decisions (based on best practice intelligence)
- Global opportunities in Higher Education (with admissions coaching)
- ‘Living adventurously’ Gap Years
- Placements as part of degrees
- Options for school leavers
- Apprenticeships
- Entrepreneurship
It expands horizons and deepens partnerships, recognising that real success is long‑term, holistic and global, and that modern pathways are rarely linear.
Alison Pike, Head of Futures, said:
“Our goal is to develop ambitious, adaptable young people who can excel at leading universities, launch their own ventures or embrace opportunities worldwide. This evolution takes us from transactions to true transformation, supporting pupils as they build futures defined by confidence, resilience and purpose.”
In recognition of this evolution, Sidcot School students can access Futures support until they are aged 25, and are able to join the Sidcotians Connect network beyond this for building contacts throughout their careers.
James Jones, Head, said:
We aim to empower students to realise their ambitions, equipping them to be forward‑thinking and confident in a fast‑evolving world. Through our Futures department, we prepare them not only for success at university but for purposeful, fulfilling lives beyond it.
