Mount Kelly launches pioneering Business School to transform Sixth Form education

Posted: 27th February 2026

Mount Kelly has announced the launch of Mount Kelly Business School, a bold new Sixth Form model designed to prepare young people directly for the realities of the global business world and the fast-changing demands of the 21st-century economy.

Opening in September 2026, the Business School represents a ground breaking collaboration that blends academic excellence with real-world professional preparation from day one. The programme, in association with Resalico, aims to close the widening gap between traditional education and the skills employers now require, equipping pupils with analytical thinking, leadership, resilience and technological fluency.

A new model for a changing world

The launch comes at a pivotal moment for education. Research highlighted in the World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Report 2025 shows that by 2030, employers will prioritise capabilities such as AI literacy, creative and analytical thinking, empathy and leadership, the skills not always fully developed through traditional academic pathways.

Mount Kelly Business School has been designed backwards from industry need, integrating rigorous A Level study with structured professional development to ensure pupils graduate with both qualifications and genuine career readiness.

Academic strength meets real-world capability

Pupils will study a strong academic core of A Levels, including Business and/or Economics alongside Social Sciences and additional subjects from the Mount Kelly portfolio, while undertaking a dedicated Electives and Enrichment programme that forms a central, timetabled component of learning.

This programme develops four key dimensions of professional readiness:

• Business Skills: from company mechanics to competitive marketplace strategy
• Tech Skills: ethical, creative and strategic use of technology and AI
• Health & Wellbeing: resilience, self-awareness and peak performance
• Community: social impact, entrepreneurship and real-world project leadership

Together, these strands create confident communicators, ethical leaders, agile learners and digitally empowered professionals ready for future careers.

Bridging classroom and boardroom

A defining feature of Mount Kelly Business School is its direct engagement with industry. Pupils will explore global case studies through the Icon Series, analysing organisations such as Zara, Netflix and Patagonia, while guest speakers from senior leadership roles provide insight, mentorship and professional networks.

Learning environments are designed to mirror modern workplaces, supported by internships, industry visits, CV development and interview coaching so that pupils begin building career capital before leaving school.

Beyond university preparation

Mount Kelly believes the future of Sixth Form education must extend beyond university entry alone. Graduates of the Business School will leave with the agility to pursue higher education, entrepreneurial ventures or direct entry into the professional world, already equipped with meaningful experience and transferable skills, and will already have banked the knowledge for a significant career advantage.

Applications now open

Applications for Year 12 entry in September 2026 are now open, with places intentionally limited to ensure personalised mentoring and close industry engagement.
