Royal High Bath, GDST (RHB) has launched a brand new series of Masterclass open events at its Senior School, offering a fresh take on the traditional open day by combining school visits with engaging, skills-based learning experiences.
Open to girls in Years 4-6 from any school, the Masterclass series is their chance to experience teaching and learning at Royal High first-hand. Each event is designed to reflect real classroom life at the school, with interactive sessions spanning subjects including Art, Sport, Classics and Languages.
The events also provide an opportunity for prospective students to visit the Senior School site, which will become the new home for Years 5 and 6 from September 2026, following the school’s recent announcement that Royal High will move to a 9-18 age range on one site. Pupils in Years 5 and 6 will benefit from specialist subject teachers, access to excellent facilities and a seamless transition into Year 7, all within one school environment.
Following the success of the Make and Bake Masterclass in November, Royal High has announced a varied programme of events for the spring and summer terms – all of which are scheduled to take place on a Saturday and are free of charge to attend. However, due to the popularity of these events and limitations on the number of places, parents are encouraged to register their daughter early to avoid disappointment.
- 28 February – Language Explorers Masterclass (Years 4 and 5)
- 28 February – Netball Masterclass (Years 4-6)
- 14 March – Art Sparks Masterclass (Years 4-6)
- 9 May – Performing Arts Masterclass (Years 4 and 5)
- 6 June – Magical Classics Masterclass (Years 4 and 5)
Parents can register for events via the Royal High website: www.royalhighbath.gdst.net/whats-on?category=masterclass
Heidi-Jayne Boyes, Head of Royal High, commented: ‘At Royal High, we want prospective students to experience what learning here is really like. Our Masterclass events give participants the chance to get involved, try new subjects and enjoy the kind of hands-on, inspiring lessons that are part of everyday life at the school. They also provide the opportunity to experience the Senior School environment, which will become the home for Years 5 and 6 from 2026, supporting a smooth and confident transition into the later years of education.’
