Huish is thrilled to announce its upcoming production of the award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen. This powerful story will bring together talented students for show nights from the 3rd to the 6th of February.
Winner of Tony, Olivier and Grammy awards, the musical tells the story of Evan, a lonely high school student who struggles with anxiety and feels invisible.
After a troubled classmate, Connor, dies by suicide, Evan is mistaken as his close friend. But instead of correcting the misunderstanding, he goes along with it, which brings him acceptance, love, and a sense of belonging he’s never known. But as the lie grows, Evan must face the truth and learn that real connection comes not from pretending, but from honesty and being his true self.
The musical phenomenon, which was also released as a film, shines a spotlight on themes of identity, mental health and belonging. It is accompanied by a moving (and very catchy!) soundtrack written by the same duo behind The Greatest Showman and La La Land.
Support local students by securing your seats in the Huish Theatre! Age rating 13+. 7.30pm start on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th of February. Tickets from £13 via the box office:
