Moor Park School Hosts Community Mental Health Morning for Parents and Families

Posted: 25th November 2025

To mark World Mental Health Day, Moor Park School welcomed parents and families from across the community to a special event focused on children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing.

The morning featured a panel discussion exploring the emotional challenges children may encounter as they approach adolescence. Expert speakers included Moor Park Headmaster James Duffield, a local GP, a House Parent from a senior boarding school, and the Director of Pastoral Welfare and Mental Health Lead at Malvern College. Together, they offered valuable insights into supporting children through this important stage of development.

Reflecting on the event, Headmaster James Duffield said:

“At Moor Park, we recognise that the journey into adolescence can be both exciting and emotionally complex for children. As part of our ongoing commitment to nurturing the whole child, we were proud to host a morning dedicated to exploring the mental health challenges young people may face during this crucial stage.

With contributions from leading local voices in education and healthcare, the morning proved a great success. The feedback we received from parents and teachers alike highlighted just how valuable this shared discussion was for our wider community.”

Following the success of this event, Moor Park School plans to launch a series of future speaker mornings designed to support parents and explore key issues affecting children’s development and wellbeing throughout their school years.
