On Saturday 8 November, the Christ’s Hospital Band proudly took part in the Lady Mayor’s Show in London – a landmark moment in the event’s 800-year history. The 2025 procession celebrated the appointment of Alderman Dame Susan Langley DBE as the City of London’s first Lady Mayor.
As entry number 111, the Band made a striking impression as they marched through the capital in their distinctive Tudor uniform, performing for thousands of spectators.
The Christ’s Hospital Band has a long association with the Lord Mayor’s Show, having participated in the procession for many decades. This year’s appearance carried special significance, marking both a historic milestone for the City and an opportunity for the students to showcase their talent, teamwork and discipline.
Christ’s Hospital Band Director, Mr Tim Carter, said:
‘It was an enormous privilege for our pupils to take part in this historic and uplifting occasion. The atmosphere was fantastic, and our students represented Christ’s Hospital with real pride and professionalism.’
Christ’s Hospital extends its warmest congratulations to the new Lady Mayor and thanks the organisers for once again inviting the Band to be part of this iconic celebration of London’s history and community spirit.
