Taunton School is celebrating the resounding success of its inaugural Giving Day which took place on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th September 2025.
The initiative has seen the School raise more than £415,000 through 418 donations, surpassing the original goal of £250,000 from 200 donors.
Funds raised will directly support students through three main projects: a refurbishment of the School’s Gwyn Williams Music Room, the construction of a bridge to connect the main campus with sports facilities across Greenway Road, and the School’s Assisted Places programme to help more children benefit from a life-changing education.
Jack Clark, Director of Development & Alumni Relations, said: “The energy was electric and the enthusiasm contagious as pupils and staff threw themselves into an array of activities, from bridge building and face-painting to sonnet reading and marathon musical performances. It was wonderful to witness the whole community come together.”
Throughout the two-day event, students from across the School enjoyed a range of activities, including a full day of outdoor music performances, fun academic challenges, a special Pre-Prep wake up, shake up, student sport competitions, a staff bake-off and sale, student vs Head’s rugby event, a performance from the Prep School BSL choir, and an array of staff musical performances.
The Giving Day saw members of the Taunton School community including parents, alumni, staff, students, Governors, and local people come together to show their support and donate what they could.
