Established in 2007, The Pride of Somerset Youth Awards seek to recognise the amazing achievements of young people in our community, and we were so proud to see three Huish students recognised at last night’s award ceremony (21st of May).
Millicent Morgan-Holloway was the Art and Culture Award winner thanks to her exceptional musical talent, creativity and dedication to the arts. Millicent is currently studying Music A Level and the BTEC Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production. She also starred as The Lion in our college production of The Wiz earlier this year.
Chloe Fry, who is studying A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, took home The Peter Renshaw Outstanding Educational Achiever Award. New for 2025, this award is dedicated to the memory of Peter Renshaw and is awarded to a student who demonstrates exceptional educational commitment and achievement. Highlighting this further is Chloe’s recent offer from The University of Cambridge to study medicine at St John’s College.
Jasmine Fowler, Class of 2024 Huish student, won The Community Hero award. Seeking to shine a spotlight on a selfless individual who has had a positive impact in their local community, it’s no surprise that during her time at Huish Jasmine was one of our Student Governors, in addition to studying A levels in Politics, Sociology and Psychology.
Congratulations to Millicent, Chloe and Jasmine, and well done to the nominees for all of these awards too.
