This year we had two teams representing hockey at Fettes on the Under 18 Finals Day in Glasgow. The Under 18 Girls won a hard-fought match 2-0 against The High School of Dundee in the Scottish Plate Final. Marianna M scored a fabulous team goal, latching onto a pass from Izzy A to draw the ‘keeper and slot the ball home. Isabelle A then doubled the lead with a superbly taken penalty stroke after a clear shot on goal was blocked illegally. The team survived some scary moments thanks to the outstanding Pippa K in goal and were ultimately well worth their win.
The Under18 boys have been undefeated all term and swept Edinburgh Academy away in their final 5-0 to claim back-to-back titles after an incredibly difficult draw. Ollie B got the game off to a perfect start after a flowing move allowed Glen G to cross and leave Ollie with a tap in. Ramsay M scored the second finishing off a slick penalty corner move just before half time. Jack A scored the goal of the match just after the break to make it 3-0, and late goals from Jamie B and Harry A secured the win as Scottish Cup Champions
It was an absolutely fabulous evening and the Fettes crowd were superb with their unwavering support.
