ACS International School Egham’s boys basketball team returned to the UK unbeaten and secured a gold medal in the ISAA Division 2 tournament in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. As a result, the team have been promoted and will now compete in Division 1 in the next academic year.
Alongside the success of the boys team, the girls team from ACS Egham achieved a bronze medal at the ISAA Division 1 basketball tournament in Athens.
On top of the team success, five students from the school, Amena, Sofia, Stefano, Rajiv and Max were also individually named in the All-Star Selection due to their outstanding effort and performance throughout the tournament.
Jamie Johnston, Director of Co-Curriculum at ACS Egham, said: “We are overjoyed with our individual students and their fantastic achievements representing our school as a team. Competing in international tournaments like these require an incredible amount of dedication, and to see that hard work be rewarded and recognised makes our whole school community proud.”
Students at ACS Egham benefit from access to the Woodlee Centre, an innovative multi-purpose sports centre that is equipped with a dance studio, outdoor traversing wall, fitness suite, indoor climbing wall and two FIBA-sixed basketball courts that can be transformed into badminton courts.
