Students and staff at St Edmund’s Prep School (located in Ware, Hertfordshire) – England’s oldest Catholic school – celebrated the start of Lent with a lively and spirited pancake race.
The flip-tastic event, which was held on Shrove Tuesday, saw students and staff from across the Prep School come together to participate in the much-loved annual pancake race. The race provides a fun, vibrant and engaging opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate as a school community.
Sprinting through the historic school’s grounds, participants attempted to flip their pancakes in their frying pans in a quest to get to the finishing line first.
St Edmund’s traditional pancake race marks the start of a series of Lent-focused activities at the school, which also includes prayer services and reflection sessions.
