Twenty-Eight Millfield Prep pupils have gained top marks in a national computing competition.

Four pupils, Zach Hunter Dunn, Bella Lloyd, Jasmine Pendsay and Hadley Chen Xuan Squibb were awarded a gold certificate for being placed in the top 10% in the country for their age group.

Zack Hunter Dunn gained the highest score of all the Millfield Prep School pupils and received a ‘Best in School’ certificate.

Bebras is an international initiative aiming to promote informatics and computational thinking among school pupils at all ages. The challenges are made up of a set of short problems called Bebras tasks and are delivered online.

Over 400,000 pupils nationwide took part in the UK Bebras Challenge this year, with over 115,000 participating in the same section as our Year 7 pupils.

Jonathan Ford, who is the Head of Computing and ICT at Millfield Prep, stated “The Bebras Challenge provides pupils with a fantastic chance to showcase the progress they’ve made in their programming and coding skills throughout the current academic year.”

He added, “the challenges were complex and we are therefore extremely proud of pupils hard work and successful results.”
