Gresham’s School inspires the next generation of musicians with their continued status as an All Steinway School

Posted: 14th November 2023

Gresham’s School, in Holt, North Norfolk, first began its relationship with Steinway in 2012, becoming an All Steinway School. The piano is a central instrument in many arts organisations, music departments, and homes. It guides musicians from their initial painstaking steps to exploring global concert halls, experiencing the instrument’s full timbre and expressive qualities.

Their continued relationship with Steinway was celebrated last week with a launch event. The launch took place in the school’s recently opened Dyson Building, the innovative centre for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education, with a once-in-a-generation performance from the school’s Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior pupils playing on 17 Steinway pianos.

The school is fortunate to be able to offer its pupils, as well as children from across different communities and organisations, such as the Norfolk County Youth Orchestra and The Salvation Army Music Summer School, the chance to learn and play on some of the world’s finest pianos.

Gresham’s will continue to inspire the next generation of pianists and musicians, through rehearsals and performances, masterclasses and recitals, residencies and competitions, providing world-class instruments and educational opportunities that promote excellence throughout the school and the wider community.
