Embley has partnered with SW7 Academy, providing students with an elite performance training programme that is usually only available to top rugby academies and professional teams.

For the launch, Embley welcomed Sam Warburton, co-founder of SW7 Academy and former international captain of Wales, Cardiff and the British & Irish Lions, and Chris Tombs to a pre-season training session with students. Chris is a professional strength and conditioning coach and performance consultant, who has worked with some of Welsh rugby’s highest profile players over his 28 years of professional level coaching.

The partnership will help students become better athletes using the unrivalled knowledge and expertise of the SW7 Academy team. The strength and conditioning programme is written specifically for Embley students with moderations for different age groups to aid in their development. Students will also benefit from pitch conditioning sessions, off feet conditioning and recovery sessions.

Gareth Richards, Embley’s Director of Sport, commented: ““We are thrilled to be forming this partnership with the SW7 Academy. Sam, Chris and their team bring unrivalled experience from the world of elite sport. The SW7 Academy will play a lead role in developing the athletic abilities of our students at Embley and this partnership highlights our commitment to support our athletes in the best possible manner.”

Sam Warburton Co-Founder at SW7 Academy, commented: “We are delighted to have partnered with Embley to help students develop their athletic abilities in a safe but progressive manner. We look forward to playing our part in the development of the next generation of athletes.”
