Renovations for Truro School’s Sixth Form Centre

Posted: 15th September 2023

During the 2023 Summer holidays, the Estates Team at Truro School worked around the clock to enhance facilities ahead of the new academic year. Alongside the modernisation of the Physics department and Library, the Sixth Form Centre was treated to a contemporary transformation, creating a light-filled, modern workspace for our students.

The design, created by local interior design consultancy 3idog, includes acoustic panelling, new furniture and dedicated areas for collaboration, relaxation and private study. The centre is now a light-filled, modern workspace.

Combined with the Sixth Form Café, the facilities help to create a dynamic hub for our Sixth Form students to flourish academically and socially in an environment that sits both alongside and distinctly separate from our main Senior School offering.

Head of Sixth Form, Mr Ross Williamson explains, “Truro School offers Sixth Formers the best of both worlds – being treated in many ways like an adult, whilst also having the support network surrounding a school student. Sixth Formers are in the driving seat, but we are there to help them navigate and avoid the pitfalls. We give them a steer when they need it.

What makes our Sixth Form special is the wide array of curricular and supra-curricular activities we offer. The jewel in this crown is the Truro School Sixth Form Diploma, which was introduced in 2021. It is an ever-evolving framework created to promote individual choice and ambition alongside a well-resourced breadth of opportunities to explore diverse interests and develop real employment and life skills.”
