Strathallan School pupil Rohan Mann was on shift at Morelli’s Ice Cream Parlour in Portstewart when he received news that he had achieved five straight A’s in his Higher exams.

The 17 year-old from Dunning said he was on cloud nine when the text came through.

“I was getting ready for the day ahead when my phone buzzed. I couldn’t believe it,” said Rohan.

“It feels so good to know my hard work has paid off and takes pressure off next year.”

Rohan said his five A’s in Maths, Physics, Economics, French and Latin, melt away any doubts about his plans for the future.

“With five A’s behind me, I can now plan ahead. I’m looking to take two Advanced Highers and an additional Higher in Business, so that next year I’m in the perfect position to apply for an Economics degree.”

Rohan’s sweet success has been mirrored across the school with the best results to date achieved at Higher and Advanced Higher.

Recent SQA results have revealed a remarkable growth in A grades at both Higher and Advanced Higher levels, more than doubling since 2019, marking the school’s best results to date.

The Lower Sixth students in Strathallan School’s Sixth Form have achieved a remarkable 92% pass rate at Higher, with standout performances in subjects such as Drama, Economics, French, Music, Latin, and Spanish, all boasting a perfect 100% A grade.

Not to be outdone, the Upper Sixth students have soared to new heights with their outstanding results. An impressive 93% of them have secured spots at their first-choice destinations at prestigious further education institutions across the UK.

Even more Strathallan students will have reason to celebrate when GCSE and A-Level results come out on Thursday 17th August.
