Strathallan School student Rachel F has been handpicked to represent Scotland in the 8 Nations Hockey tournament in Spain this week.

Rachel, who discovered her passion for the sport at the age of 8, expressed her joy at the chance to don the national colours with pride as she takes to the field against formidable international opponents.

Speaking about her selection, Rachel said, “It’s a great opportunity and I can’t wait to get out there. Just putting on the Scotland shirt and knowing you are representing your country is an incredible feeling.”

The 8 Nations tournament is scheduled to kick off on Friday, July 7, with the Scottish Emerging Girl’s squad taking on their German counterparts in what promises to be a thrilling opening match. Rachel’s inclusion in the team further solidifies her position as a rising star in Scottish Hockey.

Director of Sport at Strathallan School, Jim Thompson spoke highly of Rachel’s commitment to hockey and her representation of the school.

“Rachel’s selection for the Scottish national side is a testament to her dedication and unwavering passion for the game,” Thompson said. “We are immensely proud of her and the hard work she has invested in her sport. We wish her the very best in the upcoming tournament.”

Rachel is no stranger to elite-level sports. Her older brothers and former Strathallan students, Zander and Matt Fagerson, have already carved their names in the world of rugby, representing Scotland on the international stage, most recently being selected onto the Rugby World Cup training squad.

With the tournament just around the corner, Strathallan would like to congratulate Rachel and wish her all the best as she looks set to make her mark in U17 Scottish Hockey.
