Raayaan Ravasia will be attending NYU, he is a boarder who joined Millfield in Year 10. He said, “I came to Millfield for several reasons, the biggest being the diversity in the student body. Being from India, we didn’t have the diversity Millfield offers and with so many people from different countries, it gives you a taste of what life is like at university and in the workplace.”

Ben Harcourt-Harrison will be attending Marquette University on a football and academic scholarship. Ben, who is a boarder, has enjoyed his time on the Millfield football programme since joining Lower Sixth. He said, “I joined Millfield because it was the best UK independent school, based on the facilities and sports combined with academics. Studying in the US is a good option for me so that I can continue with high-level coaching. The football programme offers fantastic coaching, playing opportunities, and facilities. Millfield is a one-off experience, and it has developed me as a person and has made me more prepared for real life.”

Jasmine Caley is a day student who joined Millfield Prep in Year 3, she has signed up for the University of Arizona with a triathlon and academic scholarship. She said, “I liked all the individual elements of triathlon, so I started the triathlon programme in Year 9, as well as cross country. I have really enjoyed my time at Millfield, and seeing the triathlon programme grow and develop has been fantastic.”

Charlotte Hill is a boarder who joined Millfield in Year 11, she has committed to a rugby and academic scholarship at Lindenwood University. During her time at Millfield, Charlotte has enjoyed being part of the girl’s rugby team. She said, “I joined Millfield because of the sports facilities and coaches on offer here, they were the best I’d seen and provided so many different opportunities to the students. The rugby programme has been the highlight of my time here, the coaches are so helpful and support us not only as rugby players but also as individuals.”

Gbemiga Adeboye is a boarder who joined Millfield in Lower Sixth and will be attending St. Bonaventure University, New York. He received a rugby and academic scholarship. On average, 19% of Millfield students apply to study at universities in the US and Canada, and the numbers each year are growing. Some are attracted by the fantastic sports facilities and opportunities, whilst many favour the academic tuition system which provides more flexibility on course choice and the opportunity of combining a diverse range of subject areas.

Millfield provides specialist guidance for applications to American universities and timetabled SAT classes. Millfield is also one of the few SAT centres in the UK, which means that students can take their SAT entry exam on-site.

Our Futures Department is resourced to provide guidance to meet individual aspirations.
