ACS International Schools has been named as a top 10 school in the prestigious World Best School Prize under the category of ‘Community Collaboration’, following the inaugural STEAM 2022 event at Thorpe Park; a free event led by ACS International School Partnerships for 10,000 primary and secondary school students from over 100 local state and independent schools.

STEAM 2022, which took place in October last year, saw students participating in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) themed activities and challenges to earn their rides on Thorpe Park’s rollercoasters, as well as live shows, workshops and orchestral performances.

A number of high profile organisations attended and provided a unique learning experience for students. Some of the organisations which attended included Barclays, LEGO, Mercedes F1, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Intel.

Graeme Lawrie MBE, Partnerships Director at ACS International Schools, said: “We are honoured to have been named as a top 10 school in the World Best School Prize under the category of Community Collaboration, especially as we were up against some significant worldwide competition.

“However, for us, the achievement isn’t about receiving recognition – it goes further than that. STEAM forms part of ACS’ charitable mission, and we are far more proud of the profound educational impact we have had on young people. Ultimately, we want to inspire before we educate and STEAM 2022 did exactly that. I am so thrilled we were able to lay that blueprint and hope to continue this journey long into the future.”

World’s Best School Prizes celebrate schools across the world that make a positive difference to the lives of young people. The Community Collaboration category recognises those schools which are closely working with local communities to secure solid grounding necessary for student progress.
