ACS International School Cobham’s U17 Boys’ swimming team were crowned champions of the U17 category and overall winners at the World School Swimming Championships, beating 35 other schools from around the world – from the Philippines to Kenya and Dubai – and more locally such as Ibstock Place School in Roehampton and Whitgift School in Croydon.

The Championships also included other age categories: U11, U13 and U15. By combining the scores from every age group, ACS Cobham finished with the most points out of all of the schools competing in the competition, reigning victorious with a total of 569 points.

Glen Melson, Head of Swimming at ACS Cobham, said: “The ACS Cougar swim team rose to the challenge with multiple personal bests, medals and top 10 finishes. Congratulations to all of the swimmers who competed and a huge well done to the U17 swimmers who won the boys’ trophy and overall winner. Thank you to all the parents who came and supported the team, I hope you are as proud as we are when watching our young athletes compete.”
