Congratulations to Sophie H who was awarded Junior Skeet Athlete of the Year at the British Shooting Awards held on Saturday 7th January in Leeds.
Sophie received that award jointly with her mixed team partner, Mitchell B S, for their incredible performances on the world stage including being Junior European and World Mixed Team Champions.
This showpiece event for the sport saw awards for Junior and Pathway Athletes, Target Sprint athletes, Para Trap athletes, Paralympic Shooter of the Year, and Olympic Shooter of the Year. There were also awards for social impact, teamwork, #TargetChange and coaching. GB Shooting had an incredible 2022 with 36 different athletes winning a total of 86 medals at major and Grand Prix events and competition was tough for the award winners throughout the evening.
Our congratulations also go to Sophie’s coach, Richard Brickell who won the award for Special Impact from a Coach or Practitioner for his impact on athletes across the Great Britain Team and being a driving force in the World Class Programme.
