New Head Appointed for Kingham Hill School

The Governors of Kingham Hill are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Pete Last as Head of Kingham Hill from September 2023.

Pete was educated at Alleyn’s School and St Catharine’s College, Cambridge where he read Geography. Pete has over 30 years’ experience of working in education. After University, he served as Geography teacher at Hebron School in India where he and his wife, Debs, were also Houseparents for 25 girls between the ages of 11-14.

After 6 years in India (and with three little ones in tow), the family returned to the UK where Pete worked as Geography teacher and Houseparent to 45 girls aged 13-18 at Lord Wandsworth College. After 9 years he moved to Stowe School where, for 11 years, he had various roles including Head of Geography, Housemaster of a boys’ house of 60 boys aged 13-18, Senior Housemaster, Head of Boarding, Assistant Head and Deputy Head Pastoral. Most recently Pete was Head of Kingsley School in Devon before taking up a new challenge in other roles connected to education including as a qualified Executive Coach and Mentor and Educational consultant.

Pete is a school governor in an HMC school and is currently also serving as Vice-Chair of a large Multi-Academy Trust in Devon. He is a member of the Christian Coaching and Mentoring Network and is also a member of TISCA. In addition to his broad professional experience, Pete is an Arsenal fan and enjoys making music, singing, walking, and reading.

Pete is married to Debs who is an artist and they have three adult children. They are very much looking forward to joining the Kingham Hill community, along with their Springer Spaniel, Archie, who loves boarding schools.
