Huish Heptathlete sets 5 personal bests at European Championship

Richard Huish College student, Seren Rodgers, started her summer representing Great Britain in Heptathlon at the European Under 18’s Championship in Jerusalem.

Following her seven events, she placed a fantastic 7th overall after coming in ranked 12th. Seren excelled setting five PBs across the High Jump, Long Jump, Javelin, 200m events and beating her overall Heptathlon score by 91 points.

The former The Castle School pupil has just completed her first year at Richard Huish College studying Biology, Physical Education and Psychology. Luke Parish, Psychology Teacher at Huish commended Seren sharing “She has managed to maintain a balance with her sporting commitments and her academic studies and is becoming an influential role model to those around her”.
