Felsted’s Tawana C, Year 10, has won the U16 Swiss Rugby Cup 2022!
As a team, the Zug U16s were unbeaten this season, and Tawana was thrilled to have been selected to play for them and finish the season in style by claiming the Swiss National Cup
The Zug team is made up of individuals that come from all over the world ‘It was great for me to go back home and play with my team’ says Felsted School’s Tawana. It’s pretty international and diverse, which makes it fun.’
Tawana, a full boarder at Felsted, currently plays for the School’s U16 A-team, and has been playing since he arrived at Felsted in Year 5. His love for the game soon grew, with Tawana receiving Felsted’s rugby full colours tie in Year 8.
Rugby is a strong discipline at Felsted, with success at every level over the last few years. The school currently holds partnerships with Saracens as well as Northampton Saints, helping build a pathway to success for current players at all levels.
Recent individual Rugby success stories at Felsted include; Alex Wardell who was selected for England’s U20s earlier in the year, Ellie Lennon who made her 1st Team Premiership Debut in January, Ehren Painter who is featuring regularly for Northampton Saints as one of the youngest premiership props, and Craig W who has just signed a professional contract with Northampton Saints. Max Malins and Rory Hutchinson continue to shine in the professional rugby world with international selection, and Max recently added to his achievements by being named the top Premier League Rugby Try Scorer.
