Blueprint for a 21st-century school system โ€“ William Goldsmith joins the debate

Posted: 16th June 2022

William Goldsmith, Head Teacher, St Georgeโ€™s School, Windsor Castle and TIOB Executive Committee Member, has joined the discussion around the 21st century education system and responded to the article โ€˜Times Education Commission calls for schooling resetโ€™ (Wednesday 15 June, 2022) with his support for the commissionerโ€™s proposed 12-point plan. In his letter, he wrote:

โ€œSir, I am pleased the Times Education Commissionโ€™s 12-point plan is receiving much-needed debate. Our obsession with assessment and a narrow curriculum, hardly developed since the Industrial Revolution, now sits alongside a crisis in the mental health of young people. I have seen the transformational impact of a baccalaureate philosophy; now is the time for courage and bravery to create a real-world approach to education.โ€
